SHEET PILES
Sheet piles are long structural sections with a vertical interlocking system that creates a continuous wall. They are typically used in construction as a temporary or permanent earth retention and excavation support solution. Sheet piles are commonly made of steel, and they are installed in the ground to prevent soil movement and provide lateral support.
These interlocking sheet piles can be made from a variety of materials, but steel sheet piles are the most common due to their strength and durability. They are effective in retaining soil, groundwater, and other materials in a variety of applications such as construction of underground structures, river or canal banks, cofferdams, and waterfront structures.
The interlocking design of sheet piles allows them to be installed sequentially to create a continuous barrier against earth pressures. They are often driven into the ground using vibratory hammers, hydraulic presses, or other methods to ensure they provide the necessary structural support.
Overall, sheet piles offer a reliable and effective solution for various construction challenges related to earth retention, soil stabilization, and water management.
